This novel “The Brothers Karamazov” by Dostoyevsky , set in 19th-century Russia, is considered one of the Supreme achievements in literature of the world. The Brothers Karamazov is a philosophical book, which enters deeply into the ethical debates of God, free will and morality. In writing the Brothers Karamazov Dostoyevsky was also affected by personal tragedy: the death of the son of epilepsy three years; the pain of the novelist is evident throughout the book.
